Five former NASCAR drivers and team owners will be recognized for their career achievements in January 2019, as they will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Jeff Gordon, who became the youngest winner of the premier series title in the modern era at just 24 years old, highlights the class of 2019, which includes Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Jack Roush, and Roger Penske. Gordon is also a six-time winner at the Talladega Superspeedway and ranks third of all time, behind only Richard Petty and David Pearson with 93 races won.
Allison is the son of fellow Hall of Famer Bobby Allison. He registered 19 victories in only 191 events prior to his tragic death in a helicopter accident in 1993. Kulwicki was the recipient of the 1986 NASCAR Rookie of the Year and won the 1992 NASCAR Championship, but also died in 1993 as a result of a plane crash. Both Roush and Penske enjoyed tremendous success as team and car owners.
